Legal intelligence

AI-assisted reasoning over the identical primary law — semantic intent matching, conversational research, and multi-judgment synthesis that stays meticulously source-grounded.

Modern legal work demands far more than search. Jagriq is built for this evolution.

Founder's note

Computable law for India.

We started Jagriq because I kept seeing the same pattern: lawyers had more access to law than ever, and yet they were still drowning in the work of understanding it.

For twenty years, Indian legal tech focused on one problem — access. Platforms like SCC Online and Manupatra digitised judgments, statutes, and procedure at scale. That mattered. But once finding documents stopped being the hard part, the bottleneck moved.

We spent time with litigators, chambers, and in-house teams across the country. The real constraint was no longer “can I find it?” but “can I use it?” — synthesising precedent, pulling out ratios, mapping procedure, connecting the dots across thousands of updates every day.

Access is no longer the bottleneck. Understanding is.

The legal stack had become digital. It had not become intelligent. We built Jagriq because we believe the next phase of legal infrastructure has to go beyond retrieval and move toward reasoning — AI that helps lawyers think, not just search.

The evolution of legal research

Pre-2005

Manual research

  • Physical reporters
  • Manual indexing
  • Time-intensive precedent discovery
2005–2023

Digital legal databases

  • Keyword search
  • Boolean queries
  • Static document repositories
Now

AI-native legal intelligence

  • Semantic understanding
  • Conversational research
  • Multi-judgment synthesis

We are building Jagriq as the legal intelligence layer over India's primary law — Central and State Acts, rules, amendments, Supreme Court and all 25 High Courts, regulatory and government materials, with daily ingestion so the corpus stays current.

We do not believe AI replaces legal judgment.
We believe it should sharpen it.

Law is nuanced, adversarial, and human. We have built deliberately: every output grounded in primary sources, explainability first, workflows that keep the lawyer in control.
